Situated
between Ottawa and Kingston, Rideau Lakes Golf & Country Club
was officially opened on June 14, 1964. The Club is
operated by a volunteer Board of Directors. For over 40
years, it has been challenging golfers with its hilly terrain and
well-maintained greens and fairways. Rideau Lakes is a
9-hole course, with panoramic views across Upper Rideau Lake to
the charming village of Westport, waiting to welcome all golfers
from beginner to pro. If you only have one course to play
in the Rideau Lakes area of Eastern Ontario this is the one.
The
Club is open to non-members and green fee players are always
welcome. A putting green and an area to practice chipping
are available on site. Golf Country, which offers driving
range facilities, is just a kilometer along Golf Course Road,
left onto County Road 42. For those golfers who prefer to
drive, gas golf carts are available for rent. Après
golf, why not visit the club house and relax with friends while
enjoying some refreshment from the bar or a delicious meal,
freshly prepared by in-house staff? Enjoy the sunset from
the veranda, which also gives a bird's eye view of number nine
hole; re-live those last few strokes.
The course can be
rented for private functions throughout the season although July
and August are generally excluded. In-house catering is
also available for those who wish to round off their special
event with a delicious meal, freshly cooked in the Club's own
kitchen.
Member activities include, Men's League, Ladies'
League, Ladies' Bridge, Club Championships and Senior Men's Home
from Home Exchanges. If you are interested in membership,
an application form can be found in the fees section.
Over
the season, several Nine and Dine evenings are held. While
these are primarily attended by members, non-members are also
welcome. The Club also hosts an annual Ladies' Invitational
in June, giving the many ladies in the area an opportunity to
meet and compete with their peers on this beautiful course.
We
hope to see you soon.
